Taghkanic Creek Old Road Society advocates for protection of the Taghkanic Creek Headwaters and Hillsdale's dirt road farm community. Town of Hillsdale Highway Superintendent Richard Briggs (D) has proposed paving two of Hillsdale’s last remaining scenic dirt roads in the area of the Taghkanic Creek Headwaters. He is receiving outspoken support from Supervisor Mike Dvorchak (D). Residents and farmers on Texas Hill Road and Apple Tree Lane are unanimously opposed to paving these roads. Area landowners stand in solidarity with their neighbors. Community supported agriculture and farms opposed to the paving of these roads include: Pym Farm, Hawk Dance Farm, and Honey Dog Farm.
